An unemployed father-to-be is offered a job beta testing a revolutionary new AI chatbot, but as the trial progresses, he realizes that the technology may not be as benevolent as it appears.
This film is told in the "screenlife" format, a style of filmmaking where the story unfolds entirely on screens, such as computer and phone screens.
To simulate this, the edit was built using a combination of video plates, 2D motion graphics and animation, creating an immersive experience of the film's protagonist using his computer in real time.
Serena had its premiere at the 2026 Cinequest Film Festival in San Jose, CA. It has also been selected for the Raindance Film Festival and Miami International Film Festival. It is currently seeking distribution.
